KlangTanz #2 is a thirty-minute creation for two drummers and two dancers that takes into account health restrictions. It is designed so that the audience can see it from all sides. Planned to be performed outdoors and easy to set up, the piece can be presented in many different settings and does not require lighting or electricity.
Percussion and dance have always been closely linked and inseparable throughout the world: KlangTanz #2 highlights the sounds generated by dance and the movements generated by music. The geometry of space is transformed according to the interactions between the dancers and the musicians; it is marked by the movement of the drummers’ equipment in space, from the outside to the inside. Indifference, curiosity, approaching movements, alternately retreat of some and insistence of others: KlangTanz #2 is an invitation to discover each other, a questioning of mutual influences, a research oscillating between complementarities and differences.
